Southern Twist Global Enterprise was created from a lifelong connection to the food industry and a belief that a successful restaurant can positively influence the community around it.
Founder Robert Burns brings approximately 30 years of food industry experience to the business. Over the years, that experience has provided an understanding not only of food preparation and restaurant operations but also of the discipline, teamwork, consistency, and opportunity that exist inside a professional kitchen.
Today, that experience is helping shape a new vision.
Southern Twist Global Enterprise is being developed as a restaurant and community-minded food business where artisan food can be combined with hands-on learning, professional development, and opportunities to give back.

Three Decades in the Food Industry

Robert Burns has spent approximately 30 years working in the food industry.
His experiences have helped him understand how valuable hands-on training can be for someone beginning a culinary career. Learning culinary techniques is important, but experiencing the realities of a functioning restaurant—working with a team, managing time, maintaining standards, and serving guests—provides another important part of professional development.
After having the opportunity to work with the Clara White Mission, Robert saw firsthand the impact that community organizations and culinary programs can have.
The experience helped inspire his vision for Southern Twist Global Enterprise.
